Single-Disc Clutches

If you’re interested in upgrading your high-performance street or racing vehicle with a performance clutch, we’ve got the single-disc clutches for you.

Clutch Masters single-disc clutch kits are true high-performance clutch systems that are technologically superior to anything currently on the market. Whether you need a clutch disc replacement for your everyday car or your professional racing vehicle, Clutch Masters is here to help.

By re-engineering the leverage or fulcrum point on the pressure plate through our Hi-Leveragetm technique, we’ve increased the clamping power of our single-disc offerings without changing pedal pressure—by as much as 400 percent for racing vehicles. Our Hi-Leveragetm technology allows us to move the pressure plate leverage ring closer to the pivot point. Doing this allows us to solve the clamping vs. pedal pressure problem in a unique way.

With a pressure plate leverage ring closer to the pivot point, our Hi-Leveragetm Pressure Plates take mechanical advantage of the leverage principle. By moving the leverage ring closer to the pivot point as well as re-arching and precisely heat treating the clutch diaphragm, we can significantly increase the pressure applied to the clutch disc without unnecessarily increasing pedal pressure. With most other typical aftermarket clutch options, it’s a choice of one or the other—but not with Clutch Masters, thanks to our technologically superior clutches.

Moving the pivot point takes several extra steps to accomplish when manufacturing our clutches to work flawlessly with OEM stamped covers and is something we’ve perfected through our over 40 years of industry expertise. Along with increased clamping pressure without greater pedal pressure, there are some other key advantages our Hi-Leverage technology offers to drivers and high-performance vehicles. One serious problem associated with increased pedal pressure is it increases the chances of damaging the crank thrust bearing, inherently leading to crank-walk. Increased pedal pressure can put additional strain and fatigue on clutch linkages, throw out bearings, and hydraulic systems, causing them to fail prematurely.

All stages come as a complete kit including disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing (when applicable), and alignment tool. (Individual components available upon request)

All Systems Include:

  • Power Plus I Pressure Plate
  • Hi-Leverage Design
  • Ductile Iron Casting (when applicable)
  • Precision Heat-Treated Single Diaphragm
  • Re-Arched Diaphragm for Superior Disengagement
  • Heavy-Duty Straps
  • Improved Clamping Force
  • Minimal Increase in Pedal Pressure

FX400Single-Disc Clutches

170% Increase in Holding Capacity - RACE/STREET

The FX400 System uses the Power Plus I, Hi-Levarage, Heavy-Duty Pressure Plate with a custom and extremely durable, Sprung Ceramic disc. This is the ultimate extreme duty street and/or road/drag racing system. It is available in a 6 or 8 ceramic puck configuration. The 6-puck being the more aggressive setup and 8-puck being the less aggressive. The sprung hub design allows for moderate dampening in high-torque applications, rendering it much more street friendly than solid or rigid designs. This disc is designed for long life, outstanding holding capacity, and rapid heat dissipation.

FX400 6 Puck6 Puck
FX400 8 Puck8 Puck

The FX400/HDCL (8-puck) ceramic full face disc design creates a quick and rapid engagement and maintains minimal chatter due to the marcel cushion between the disc linings. This disc is designed for street driven vehicles.

The FX400/HDC6 (6-Puck) ceramic paddle design creates a quick and rapid engagement as well as clutch chatter that may not be ideal for street driven vehicles. *Warning* Due to the solid (no Marcel) friction rivet design, the FX400 6 disc engages very quickly and may chatter slightly in first and reverse. To help alleviate this problem, we only use premium ceramic friction material.
